It is my honor to speak before you today, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 9th International Conference on Volcanic Lakes (CVL9), and the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the sad events of Lakes Nyos and Monoun. On this solemn and historic occasion, I would first like to express my deep and deferential gratitude to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, for kindly authorizing the holding of this important event, and agreeing to ensure its patronage.

Visit of the Minister to Maroua

The Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Dr Madeleine Tchuinté, made a working visit to the Far North of Cameroon; on this occasion, she officially launched the JERSIC 2009.

It is a real pleasure for me to find myself in Maroua today on the occasion of my working visit to the decentralized structures of MINRESI located in the Far North regions.
