The Programming and Planning Unit
(1) Placed under the authority of a Unit Head, the Programming and Planning Unit is responsible for:
- the definition of the main directions of research and the principles of implementation of scientific policies;
- planning research actions taking into account priority areas of economic, social and cultural development;
- the programming and evaluation of research projects and operations, in liaison with research organizations, academic institutions and users;
- the study of research authorization applications, in liaison with research organizations;
- the development of sectoral research development strategies;
- conducting prospective work on developments in research and proposing new directions;
- carrying out studies relating to the creation of public research institutions;
- the centralization and processing of scientific and technological statistics;
- the creation and management of databases and databases on personnel in the scientific and technological sectors;
- the integration of traditional pharmacopoeias into the scientific research and innovation strategy.
(2) It includes, in addition to the Head of Unit, four (04) Assistant Research Officers.
