Opening ceremony of the conference on volcanic lakes (CLV9) and the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Nyos and Monoun lake disasters

It is my honor to speak before you today, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 9th International Conference on Volcanic Lakes (CVL9), and the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the sad events of Lakes Nyos and Monoun. On this solemn and historic occasion, I would first like to express my deep and deferential gratitude to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, for kindly authorizing the holding of this important event, and agreeing to ensure its patronage.
