Placed under the authority of a Unit Head, the Legal Unit is responsible for:
- Respect for the legality and legal regularity of acts involving the Ministry;
- The development and formatting of draft agreements or texts of a legislative or regulatory nature initiated by the Ministry or submitted for signature by the Minister;
- Legal opinions on issues relating to the Ministry;
- The promotion and popularization of legal culture within the Ministry;
- The investigation of administrative and contentious appeals;
- The defense of the interests of the State in justice whenever the Ministry is involved in a case, in liaison with the Ministry responsible for justice.
It includes, in addition to the Head of Unit, two (02) Assistant Research Officers.
